The IAJ and EAJ Secretariat-General has received in these days information on a proposal for an EU grant application – COST Action (https://www.cost.eu/) – on Innovation for Fair Judicial Administration in Europe: Changes, Challenges and Opportunities. The information was spread from Prof. Marco Fabri, President of JAR-Association and Research Director at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR).
JAR (Justice Administration Research) Association, based in Limoges, France, is an independent not-for-profit scientific association that aims to develop an international network of academics, policymakers, and professionals working in the justice administration sector. The association was founded in the spring of 2021 by a group of scholars including Marco Fabri (National Research Council of Italy), Caroline Expert-Foulquier (Université de Limoges), and Andreas Lienhard (Competence Center for Public Management, University of Bern), in the spring of 2021.
Together with a group of partners, JAR are aiming to build a European network bringing together the research community, practitioners and policymakers to discuss and explore justice developments from a multidisciplinary perspective.
Obtaining this European funding would allow the network of partners to organise different types of events and activities (e.g. conferences, workshops, networking events, professional exchanges, experiment with justice innovation in a safe sandbox environment) related to justice innovation that considers three drivers: managerialisation, digitalisation, and the European legislative framework and shared justice principles.
Tilburg University is leading the application process.
The Secretariat-General contacted therefore all European Associations, to make them aware of this new possibility to interact with other practitioners, research institutes, scholars etc. in the fields of the administration of justice and in the other activities which are mentioned in the material which is here linked. These documents describe the scopes of the iniatives and remind that, in order to be eligible to participate, it is essential to submit the application within the submission deadline of 23 October 2024.
